To ensure that you can view a shared calendar on your smartphone, please make sure that the calendar has already been shared with your Outlook account. Once the calendar has been shared with you, you can easily access it using either the Outlook desktop client or the web client.
If you prefer to use your smartphone, the Outlook mobile app offers a seamless experience on both iOS and Android platforms. The process to access shared calendars remains consistent regardless of the operating system you are using.
Add Shared Calendars to the Microsoft Outlook mobile app
Open your Outlook app on your smartphone. If you do not have the Outlook app, please download the app and follow the steps below
- Launch the Outlook mobile app on your iOS or Android device
- Select the calendar option in the app
- Open the calendar menu in the top left corner near the month
- Tap the add calendar button on the left icon with a + sign
- Click on add shared calendars
- At the top under Shared Calendars select your Bertram Capital email (yourname@bcap.com)
- Search for the person or group whose calendar you already have permission to access
- Tap the add button
- The calendar will appear in your list
- The check mark next to the shared calendars name will toggle the calendar

- Open the Outlook app on your device and click the Calendar icon at the bottom of the screen
- Tap the add calendar button
- At the top under Shared Calendars select your Bertram Capital email (yourname@bcap.com)
- Search for Shared Calendar
- Add Shared Calendar
- The calendar will appear in your list you can access through the menu the check mark will toggle the calendars view
- The settings gear will allow you to change the color of the shared calendar along with allowing you to remove the shared calendar
How to install Microsoft Outlook Mobile App on an Android device
You can set up the Outlook mobile app on your Android device to access your email, calendar, and contacts.
- On your Android phone or tablet, go to the Google Play Store and type Microsoft Outlook in the search box. You can also use the Google Play Store search widget to search for the app
- In the search results, select the Microsoft Outlook app
- Select Accept to accept the access agreement
- When the installation is complete, select Open
How to install Microsoft Outlook Mobile App on an iPhone
You can set up the Outlook mobile app on your iOS device to access your email, calendar, and contacts. The app works with Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Outlook.com, Google, Yahoo! Mail, iCloud, and IMAP mail accounts.
- On your iOS device, select on the App Store Icon, Type Microsoft Outlook in the search box to find the Outlook for iOS app
- Select the Microsoft Outlook app in the search results, select Get, and then select Install
- Sign in with your Apple ID, or create an Apple ID if you don’t have one
- After the app is installed, select Open
How to Apply Email Previews for Outlook on your Mobile Device
1.in Outlook settings confirm that you do not have the "Show Previews" set to "When Unlocked", if you would like to see the preview before unlocking your phone you will need to set the setting to "always"
2.If you navigate to "Notifications" in your settings, sometimes the "Show previews" is set to "never" and you can switch to "always" there as well.
3. Restarting your phone, often apply's settings that you change if you are unable to see an immediate fix.
